Only fully paid and dedicated political “cobardes” or insincere political analysts and historians would agree with the tired, malicious and irrelevant assertion that the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) was formed by the British and American imperialists in order to reverse the chaotic and corruption ridden land reform programme.
Such analysts have years devoted their opinions on the 2 aspects which they ferociously present as institutional weaknesses of the MDC.
Firstly, they argue that the MDC leadership is inconsistent, divided and weak thereby linking this to the possibility of being a mere puppet for the West particularly the British and Americans.
Secondly, the MDC is accused of being ideological-less, meaning they do not have a well defined, concrete set of social, economic and political principles or guidelines which spell out what exactly the party stands for in Zimbabwe and beyond.
This means the MDC according to the “corbades” is left “vacillating between the dignity and intelligence of man and the wisdom derived from God”.
That is to say, the MDC is nothing less and nothing more than a willing tool of manipulation by those who have money and strong ideas to defend their own interests in Zimbabwe, namely the white farmers and imperialists of the West.
These aspects are often touted as what separate the “puppet” MDC from the “patriotic and revolutionary” Zanu PF and argued to be the basis on which genuine patriotic Zimbabweans should elect their rulers.
Today if a spade can be called a spade, there is nothing patriotic and revolutionary about the political conduct of Zanu PF neither is there any puppetry on the part of MDC.
It has been proved beyond any shadow of doubt that Zanu PF leadership is the most corrupt in Africa if not the world. They have turned themselves from liberation heroes into mere combatants of fortune.
The chaotic land reform where they grabbed multiple farms for themselves presents itself as their death certificate as genuine patriotic and revolutionary cadres interested in mass empowerment.
Throughout the history of people’s revolutions and patriotism, the values of excessive greed, self enrichment, corruption and abuse of citizens by purporting to empower them for the sake of power retention are all proof of naked reactionalism.
President Mugabe has day and night acknowledged this phenomenon among the rank and file of the Zanu PF membership hence I do not see any way his party claims to be better or more patriotic and revolutionary than the MDC.
It does not need pseudo – political scientists like Jonathan Moyo, Tafataona Mahoso, etc. to acknowledge this fact and that the MDC was formed by Zimbabwean workers, farmers, students, intellectuals/academics and peasants after realizing that the so called liberators had turned themselves into combatants of fortune who did not spare anytime to listen to voices of the have nots.
The People’s Convention which founded the MDC with sole objective to bring about social and economic justice, to promote democratic and constitutional reforms, good governance as well as dignity to the marginalized working classes of Zimbabwe.
If imperialists cleverly and intelligently saw the opportunity to defend their interests that is a different story all together, after all the onus is on the so called revolutionaries to counteract that in an intelligent and progressive manner not the destructive and chaotic land reform and violence against the people.
Zanu PF as a true remnant of murderous, corrupt and irrelevant fascist communists should have realized and accepted that after waging a blood liberation war, whatever political, social and economic conflict in a post colonial era should be resolved peacefully through the will of the people during elections – a symbol of self determination we fought for.
Zanu PF’s strong belief in fascist vandalism or jambanja explains why they are failing to grasp the political convenience and fortunes brought about by the General Political Agreement (GPA) and Inclusive Government (IG) simply because they find refuge in their glorious past which they prefer to abuse through arrogance and defiance.
Their refusal to honour the GPA in full is a good example of expired people who can not move with time. Zanu PF is a political party that entirely believes in its own failed propaganda and lies.
For example in plain 21st Century President Mugabe smartly dressed in European made suits proudly boasts for being a head of state through jambanja. This is what pseudo political analysts prefer MDC leader to be in order for him to win the patriotic and revolutionary tag.
This also explains why President Mugabe is so dishonest and insincere to the extent that even baboons can not trust him. Remember he has the guts to claim to the world with his straight face that he won a farce of an election run off.
It is a fact of life that fascists – cum – communists have never learnt to be ashamed by their shameful acts the same way Mussolini and Hitler fooled themselves that they could rule the whole world by force.
Just imagine a party that claims to be patriotic and revolutionary, losing its more than two thirds of parliamentary seats and presidency in March/08, but still insists on its unsellable propaganda and lies, remain convinced as ever.
Thus, political cobardes who day and night argue that Zanu PF is better than the MDC simply do so to further re-affirm their newly found values of greed, open abuse of citizens and corrupt practices as combatants of fortune.
By current standards the MDC is way ahead and better than the evil Zanu PF in every respect. Yes, like in every organization, one is bound to find rotten eggs, the likes of Mutsekwa, Holland, among others.
In fact today the MDC has nothing to learn or copy from Zanu PF. Yes, we acknowledge and admire the past sacrifices of the heroic sons and daughters of Zimbabwe, but have nothing to appreciate from national hero turned murderers and humiliators of our dignity.
Just like expired tinned food, the people of Zimbabwe can not be forced to support and love Zanu PF just because it used to be a patriotic and revolutionary mass movement.
In fact there are many better ways of proving one’s patriotism other than the Zanu PF’s jambanja way. As things stand now, Zanu PF has been repeatedly failing to resolve national problems in addition to their own internal quarrels around leader succession.
This failure further confirms the obvious conclusion that after winning national independence Zanu PF has failed to be a serious guarantor of national progress and prosperity hence is not an exemplary political organization to follow.
This reality helps us to understand why former presidents of Zambia, Mozambique and Tanzania Kenneth Kaunda, Samora Moises Machel and Julius Nyerere respectively, had initially questioned the seriousness of President Mugabe and Zanu in the liberation struggle.
Surely it is unfair to compare the MDC with Zanu PF for now.
