Dynamos scored a last-gasp goal to revive their chances of reaching the African Champions League semi-finals with a surprise 2-1 away win over ASEC Abidjan in the Ivory Coast on Saturday.

Philip Marufu took advantage of a stumble by ASEC defender Moussa Ouattara to snatch the ball midway inside the home side’s half and tuck away the last touch of the match which moved his side into second place in Group A.

Marufa had given DeMbare the lead on 54 minutes with a well taken left footed strike from close range after his initial effort had been parried away by ASEC goalkeeper Daniel Yeboah.

ASEC, who would have been on the cusp of a semi-final place had they won, scored a deserved equaliser through Bi Cyriac Gohi in the 73rd minute after a period of sustained pressure.

The result ensured qualification to the semi-finals for Al Ahli, who play their penultimate group match against Egyptian rivals Zamalek on Sunday.

Dynamos are four points off top spot on six points, one ahead of ASEC, with a final group match to come next weekend against Zamalek who prop up the standings on four points. The top two teams progress to the semi-finals.

I’m no Dynamos fan by any measure but this is a remarkable achievement under the circumstances. Why is that we keep playing guys like Mushangazhike in the national team when in form strikers like Marufu and that Chikwayikwayi chap never get a look in? I really annoys me that such players never get a chance to prove themselves when we keep recycling the same old tired players. I think Peter should have played given his current form and experience. Mushangazhike couldn’t hit a barn door from 5 yards.

Our Zimbabwean soccer has nothing to do with who is there or not there, its about administration from the political arena to the civic society. Our country has been badly managed to the extent that everything has stopped functioning. Why take new coaches when we are entering a tournament.Who is Verinos (whatever) ?We need total change to our game and country.Do you still know Morgan Nkatazo? Morgan should be Dynamos coach. We need Morgan so that our team is prosperous. Things will change if Morgan is there? Unfortunately Morgan is from the opposition of Dynamos. He is from the bitter rivals Caaps United. Can Caps United and Dynamos unite if Morgan coaches Dynamos ? But Dynamos seems to be too proud because they say they are the oldest club in the country. Even if Dynamos are winning matches but you can see that they are struggling because the game needs young players. VIVA MORGAN. I know how you used to dribble past a cluster of defenders. Viva Morgan. Those who did literature , you can read well this piece of work even from the columns written by Sharuko.Chinjai matambiro enyu Dynamos before you meet Zamaleck.

Ambassador Percy, is a linguist par excellence, he is not talking about football but the political situation in zimbabwe. Dynamos is Zanu and Caps is Mdc. Hahahahaha.

Well done Dembare, although i am a Caps United fan , i would like to thank you for bringing happiness and smiles to the football fraternity to this country. You did us proud, I hope my comments above gave you strength to prove yourselves that you are among the best in Africa. Now , go for glory and nothing is impossible . We will support you up to the end. You have shown struggling teams in the past Champions League like Highlanders and my own Caps United how it should be done. Well done , Dembare. You have reduced fading powerhouse Zamaleck to mere amateus. Itimu yelizwe lonke.
