President Robert Mugabe has reportedly ordered a mass execution of all suspected soldiers who went on rampage in the city and looted shops.
A source at the Army headquarters revealed that President Mugabe and members of the Joint Operations Command(JOC) were infuriated with the latest behaviour of the army and those “rogue elements“ would likely be executed in front of other soldiers.
Yesterday disgruntled soldiers clashed with anti-riot police trying to stop them from looting shops in in the city center as fears of an army mutiny continued to grow.

State media reported on Wednesday that some of the suspected soldiers have since been arrested and will face a stern punishment for “an act of mercenarism.“
Addressing a Press conference yesterday, Outgoing Defence Minister Sen.Sydney Sekeramayi said the incidents were being investigated and those found culpable would be brought to justice.
Sekeramayi told the press that there increasing cases of army members`s indiscipline .
“As a result, a number of properties were damaged, innocent people injured, money, and property stolen. These acts are unacceptable, deplorable, reprehensible and criminal,” Sekeramayi said.
“Let me also emphasise that those who may try to incite some members of the uniformed forces to indulge in illegal activities will equally be found culpable,” he said.
