On the international level, Action Contre la Faim is also present in Paris, London, Madrid, New York and Montreal.

Job Description

We are looking for: A NUTRITION EXPERT (M/F)

General objective:

The aim of this project is to support the ACF mission in Zimbabwe in the design and planning of nutrition interventions for the immediate and long term (2 to 3 years).

Responsibilities:

- To elaborate a nutrition strategy for immediate & long term
- Support for nutrition assessment design (possibly with partners such as UNICEF and NGO or independently)
- Participation to UNICEF nutrition survey and/or (if clearance obtained) conducting ACF independent assessments
- To participate in nutrition, health & HIV national coordination meetings including Nutrition cluster.
- To elaborate a nutrition strategy for immediate & long term
- Based on needs and priorities, propose axes for nutrition interventions, operational modalities and phase out strategy.
- To define emergency & long term nutritional responses which support the on-going Food Security and WASH activities
- Emergency programme design and kick-off (if GAM/SAM scores above emergency thresholds)
- Preparation of project proposals for donor funding
- To develop capacity of 1 Nutrition Program Manager
- Recruit with ACF team a Nut PM
- To define a plan of training and train and supervise its implementation.

Qualification and previous experience:

- High Profile Nutrition Expert with Nutrition academic background
- A minimum of 3 years humanitarian experience, both in emergency and post crisis settings
- Trained in nutrition survey methodologies (SMARTnecessary /LQAS a plus) and need-assessment tools
- Conversant in Nutrition Global Cluster standards ? would be a plus
- Background in broader nutrition related fields (FS; Agronomy) is an asset
- Experience with ACF is an asset
- Familiar with humanitarian donors ? extensive proposal writing experience
- Comfortable with capacity building and training
- Excellent command of English, written and spoken
- Humanitarian field experience required

- Ability to capitalise experience and available information in order to become quickly autonomous
- Ability to take initiative where appropriate to deal with difficulties encountered in daily work

- Ability to adapt or change priorities according to the changing situation within a mission or the organisation itself
- Ability to work within a fluid situation (changes within the team, location of programmes)
- Willingness to live and work within a team and respect the rules of collective living

Motivation and involvement:
- Motivation and commitment to humanitarian ideals
- Interest in involvement beyond the job i.e. active involvement in the ethos of the organisation itself
- Ability to integrate into the local environment including awareness of political and economic aspects of the country

Professionalism and Management:
- Ability to conduct work in a professional and mature manner
- Ability to deal with relation with local authorities as a representative of Action contre la Faim
- Ability to manage local staff in a mature and impartial manner

Status: Fixed ?term work contract
Length of contract: 2 months

All expenses paid in the field: travel out/return, collective accommodation. We pay the costs of social security, complementary health and repatriation insurance
