MDC Media Release: Herald reinvents fictitious divisions in the MDC*

True to fashion and tradition, The Herald today sought to reinvent their mdc_logo
tired fiction of divisions within the MDC leadership over the issue of the
so-called sanctions.

*The Herald* has an agenda to create artificial fissures in the people’s
Movement in the hope that they can concoct another October 12 in the MDC.

After October 12 2005, we built a stronger Movement which overwhelmingly won
the election on 29 March 2008. We could not have won that election if the
leadership had been as divided as *The Herald *wishes could happen in this
great party.

The Herald has simply sought to transfer factions and divisions from their
permanent home in Zanu PF to the MDC. It is in Zanu PF where factions,
groups and divisions are the order of the day. *The Herald* is currently
facing litigation over similar persistent lies on the relationship between
the MDC President and the Secretary-General, which lies they miraculously
hope might improve the political fortunes of Zanu PF.

The MDC leadership and members, from the President and Secretary-General, is
united and has a common position on the issue of so-called sanctions which
in essence are restrictive measures imposed on a cabal that thrived on
violence, murder and rampant human rights abuses.

For the record, the MDC Secretary-General is the chief executor and
implementor of party decisions and party policy. The unanimous party
position is that the so-called sanctions are sanctions imposed and created
solely by Zanu PF.

It is Zanu PF which has largely imposed sanctions on Zimbabwe which they now
want the MDC to deal with. We are also aware that *The Herald*’s lies are
deliberate diversionary tactics to make some of us lose focus from the theft
and kleptocracy that has eroded everyone’s confidence in the Reserve Bank of
Zimbabwe.

*Hon Tendai Biti*

*MDC Secretary-General*

  1. Abel says:

Remember the Herald also invented the divisions in October 2005 so there is still one MDC now.chuckle!!!
Unknowingly, by fighting Herald, Mr Biti is confirming that the MDC -T is powerless in this creature called GNU yet they claim to be equal partners. Does it hurt the MDC-T to get some older more mature politicians on their end? These youthfull Chamisa’s and Biti’s have a problem of responding to the wrong things all the time and raising questions in people’s minds all the time.

Tell dem Biti, tell dem,but at the same time;it shows that the MDC does not have any say in the affairs of this regime. How can the ****redu(Herald),a mere publication always distorts information about a Governing Party and go scot-free?

There is a lot of “Mis-information” being distributed at the moment..For example..The Zimbabwe mail is posting a photograph of an alleged tortured man. (see below). But this picture is from an old story from the Ogaden. It is not the Mails fault..or the reporter’s..it is misplaced trust in sources. I am suspicious of any information which is not “Verifiable” . Alleged Zimbabe Soldier being Tortured.

  3. Abel says:

kudos to you Mr Editor, you have just earned more respect from Abel for your comment.Papers lying about torture and showing wrong pictures.

P.S Shepherd will soon tell you that you have changed sides.chuckle!!!!!

Abel…..I don’t enjoy exposing or embarrassing my fellow news outlets, I am simply saying that not all news is accurate. All news requires verification and checks. otherwise Trust is lost. The Mail is a good source of News..I trust it. But it needs another step before publishing. VERIFICATION. (Editor)

abel you know very well that the power zanu has is by force, the people spoke in the ballot and transfered power to MDC, but you are so stuck in the seat as the song says andiyendi which was dedicated to mugabe by Mapfumo. This will not last forever the people have had it with you, that is why there is divisions in zanu but you choose to publish lies in your cheap paper. You can boast that you have power and MDC is weak fine but this won’t last forever. What you need to know is that your party is imposing themselves on Zimbabweans that is why you are sending soldiers to tourcher people. This is what causes sanctions and not MDC get this in your thick heads all you zanu idiots.

Abel wachinja futi? Ok I like the old Abel. But the reality in Zimbabwe in 2008 is that people were killed and tortured as what we see on that picture. Go to rural areas and get the real names of victims. Girls were forced to spend the day in the bush cooking for these Boreder Gezi boys and they were raped as what used to happen during the war when these former freedom fighters would choose girls to sleep with every night. That was rape Abel and it is still rape.

  6. Abel says:

Zimbabwe is a funny country indeed. We hear that soldiers are torturing people, fine. Then we hear again that soldiers are being tortured, strange! So who has the power now if the soldiers are being tortured? The torturer is being tortured by some unknown torturer. Gets kind of confusing. I think the editor is correct in saying there is no verification on some news concerning Zimbabwe.

Sheppy for your info, Zanu pf is a practical party, by that I mean they HIT. They have always done that, even during that time when Mugabe was getting awards in the west, he was Hitting but for some strange reason you looked aside. Nothing will change till this whole crop of leaders die. And we have the likes of you talking about democracy, freedom , ballot what what. There is nothing like that with zanu. I dont mean to cause alarm and despondency but with zanu you wont remove them with your lip service like you are doing, they are itching for a fight and even malume zuma wont help you on that one, he has his own problems and besides brother dos santos is on standby to help those madhalas in their hour of need. The best solution is to wait for them to meet their maker or take up arms with someone strong on your side otherwise forget my broer.
All those things you are mentioning now like rape are not new to zanu, it started way back in Mozambique and has never stopped. You just did not see it.
You say I have changed!! It will help your struggle if you look at the realities of the situation instead of worshipping the MDC like its a church of some sort.ou will succeed earlier if you read the situation properly, something which lacks immensely in the MDC as their solutions come from some compuetr simulator in the west.chuckle!!!!!
