Senator, your article gives me a lot of hope. If the article is also a reflection of what the other MDC leaders are thinking, it is very good news indeed. I personally think that a unity government will give us an opportunity to have a genuine democratic constitution that will prevent a repeat of the abuse of power like we have seen under Zanu PF. I also hope that MDC will make sure that the new constitution (the Kariba Draft) will limit presidential terms to 2 and help in preventing corruption through appropriate checks and balances.

I also hope that the new constitution will address the land issue once and for all bearing in mind that both black and white Zimbabweans have an equal right to farm. White farmers should be allowed to come back and do their farming, but on reduced farm sizes. Zimbabwe should be for every Zimbabwean race whether black or white.

We should ignore African leaders like Odinga (PM of Kenya) and Desmond Tutu who are calling for destructive war. We have empty hospitals, which only need drugs and nurses in order to start operating normally. We have schools and universities that are not working, but only need teachers to start operating normally. However, if there is war like in Somalia, no one knows the outcome of such a war or how long it would last. Hospital, university or school buildings and other infrastructure would be reduced to rubble if there is war making it difficult to restore health or education systems or any other system because you can not replace damaged infrastructure easily. War should never be an option.

Senator, thanks for unpacking the amendment. Can you tell me why no-one is pushing hard for these things to move forward faster, both MDC and Zanu PF are literally dragging their feet while Zim burns. You are all doing just enough to keep up appearances...

Let me tell you how MDC becomes culpable. There was this man who had an ill son, who went to his friend for help. The friend would not say no, but kept saying please come at this or the other time...until the child passed away..It later emerged the friend had no intention of helping him with the money for treatment of his kid after all, but he made it sound so real as to be believed..He thereby precluded his friend from seeking alternative help...made him believe...
