As both a democrat and an African, it gives me great joy to congratulate Senator Barack Obama, on his election as President of the United States of America.
I know that his historic victory has heartened millions of Zimbabweans, as President-elect Obama’s message of hope and change resonates so strongly with the people of this embattled country.
This result is not just a victory for him and the American Democratic Party but also for the people of that great country. For today’s events have illustrated once again the political maturity and
tolerance that are the foundations of any true democracy. Divided during the campaign, the people of the United States are now unified by this result, pledging to support and work with their new President
for the betterment of their nation.
Zimbabweans appreciate the true value of a vote, the preciousness of a poll that is conducted openly and fairly, and a result that is respected by all. This is the dream that we continue to aspire to, the
right that we demand, and the change that we know will come to our country as long as we stay true to our democratic ideals.
In this quest to have Zimbabwe take its rightful place in the family of democratic nations, I look forward to working with President Obama, his new administration and the people of the United States of America.

Well said Morgan. Its only shortsighted who will disagree with you. But guess what i know those who believe in violance will disagree.You can differ during campaignes but once the result come our respect them and then work together.No police with dogs at the polling stations.This is democracy at its best.Agree to disagree and then move on built your country, if the elected leaders fail then they must make way for others to lead. unlike some leaders in Africa who still believe they own the people of their countries, what a pity.Morgan you are great i compare you with Obama and Mandela.

Its not a permanent document. Its full name is Emergency Travel Document. While you are at it look up Emergency as well. A little reading will remove all signs of simpletonness.
