The Mutambara faction is set to appoint Losing Speaker of Parliament candidate Paul Themba Nyathi as the governor for Matabeleland South province once President Mugabe and Prime Minister Tsvangirai agree on when the new provincial leaders should be sworn in.
Nyathi last year lost the Speaker of Parliament position despite his faction having struck a deal with ZANU PF,howver its MPs defied the party leadership and backed MDC chair Lovemore Moyo. Nyathi lost a re-election bid in his Gwanda South constituency in 2005 and last year contested the ’supposedly safe’ Nketa constituency where he even lost by a wider margin to MDC-T Agriculture Secretary Seiso Moyo.
All MDC-M ’s cabinet members including the Deputy Prime Minsiter Arthur Mutambra and save for Education Minister Sen.David Coltart lost in last year parliamentary elections.
In another development Tsvangirai is set to appoint Nketa MP Seiso Moyo or Bulawayo South MP Eddie Cross as Bulawayo governor while former Victoria falls mayor and Hwange East MP, Tose Sansole and Hwange Central MP Morgan Komichi are said to be jostling to take over as Matabeleland North governor.
Lucia Matibenga former women’s league chairperson and Kuwadzana East MP might land the governor ship of Masvingo.
The issue of governors is still one of the outstanding issues from the Global Political Agreement (GPA) that the three principals have to agree on.
Under the proposals put forward when the three political parties were negotiating the MDC-T was expected to take control of five provinces namely Matabeleland North, Bulawayo, Harare, Manicaland and Masvingo while Zanu PF was expected to take control of the three Mashonaland provinces, East, West and Central and the Midlands province.
The MDC-M was going to take control of Matabeleland South.
Forgive Mutambara please,the rest of the country is being governed by loosers starting from Mugabe himself,to Mutambara to Chinamasa,to Sekeramayi.

The Finance Minister should look at all outstanding Zimra problems which are a threat to our economy. Zim leader ‘in illegal deal’

London – Zimbabwe’s Vice-President Joyce Mujuru was involved in an effort to sell gold from DR Congo on the international market despite European sanctions, a trading company alleged on Tuesday.
Mujuru’s daughter, Nyasha del Campo, tried to sell 3.7 tonnes of gold which could be worth up to $92.5m last November, Bernd Hagemann, vice-president of Firstar Europe, told AFP.
When his firm refused to do the deal and put those allegedly involved on its blacklist, Mujuru made a menacing phone call to him, Hagemann claimed.
Hagemann said Firstar Europe had been contacted by a broker in Madrid about a possible deal, which was then referred to its due diligence department.
Del Campo had repeatedly stressed that funding for the deal would come from her mother, whose identity the firm was then unaware of, he said.
“We didn’t know at this time that she was the daughter of the vice-president of Zimbabwe. She said all the time ‘my mother will pay that,’” Hagemann said.
“After the documents came back from due diligence, I saw them and I saw also the result of the due diligence, it was very high crime people all involved”.
Mujuru and her husband are on a European Union sanctions list issued in 2004 due to human rights violations.
The firm told del Campo that it could not accept the gold, which he said came from the eastern Democatic Republic of Congo – wracked by fighting between government and rebel forces in recent months, although now working towards a peace deal.
Those allegedly involved were subsequently blacklisted by the firm.
Mujuru herself also made a sinister phone call to the company, based in Warrington, northwest England, Hagemann claimed.
“Mrs Mujuru phoned me and she said to me – it was a very short call – if you don’t put my daughter and me out of the blacklist, I will give an order that someone will visit you,” he said, adding there had been no threats or violence since.
Asked why the firm had decided to publicise its allegations, Hagemann said he wanted to deter people who wanted to sell gold illegally.
“We are a totally legal dealer and we cannot accept criminal things,” he added.
The firm has published documents relating to the alleged affair on its website.
There was no immediate reaction from Mujuru to the allegations. The BBC reported that del Campo declined to comment and is consulting her lawyers.

I am Shona , born grew up, educated in Matebeleland in Mzilikazi. As a young man I used to attend meetings in Thokozani Flats where oshua Nkomo used to come to his Sangoma Zipper. We sued to line up and pass through the front door to the back of the flat shaking hands with this great man. But never at any point were we made to stand in two seperate lines of Ndebele & Shona. I am very aware that the Ndebele can be very tribalistic. What they need is education, not the kind of education that Mugabe gave them during the Gukurahundi because at that time I was teaching in Kezi and know it was bad education. The Ndebele should understand simple mathematics, we the Shona are the MAJORITY and if ever there waws a vote we would win forever, s0, do not pull any tribal gimmicks. People who do so are just being stupid. The days when they used to raid the Shonas for women, cattle and food are over. But, to be honeset, I acknowledge that the Ndebele people are better administrators that the Shona, just lokk at the Bulawayo City Council, they are richer than mst ministries all because of good administration. To the Ndebele people work hard and just make your mark in the way Bulawayo has made it’s mark that is why mugabe wanted to destroy you, you are very resourceful people.

Nicol, Zimbabwean Ndebele is a unique Nguni language, made up of 90% Zulu words and a mixture of Xhosa ,Swati, Sotho etc. e.g. Hare is uNogwaja in Zulu but uMvundla in Ndebele and Xhosa. Tied is ngikhathele in Zulu and ndi diniwe in Xhosa and ngi diniwe in Ndebele. I teach at the Durban Institute of Technology, one Zulu guy came to me and said I hear that you speak Zulu very well but why are you mixing it with Xhosa, I said to him, this is Ndebele we speak in Zimbabwe. The Ndebele spoken in Zimbabwe is similar to isiBhaca, the language spoken by people from uMzimkhulu and Eastern Cape region completely surrounded by KwaZulu Natal. To say Zimbabwean Ndebele is fake is taking it too far. Our Ndebele is the only Nguni Language that seems to connect all Nguni Languages. Even at O level and A level the Ndebele students read Zulu novels and use the book uHlelo LwesiZulu. Keep quiet if you do not know. I have researched extensively about the Nguni languages and how the geographical location has affected them. Even in KwaZulu natal, people from Nongoma speak different Zulu from people from Enkandla. Even there are different dialects of Xhosa, as there are ama Hlubi, amaMpondo, amaThembu etc. How shallow and hollow you are Nicol.
