Former Mashonaland Central Governor and Bindura Member of Parliament Elliot Manyika has died in a mysterious accident.
Manyika’s Mercedes-Benz burst a tyre, resulting in the driver losing control. The vehicle then rolled once and veered off along Masvingo Road on Saturday morning. He was pronounced dead on arrival at Mater Dei Hospital in Bulawayo.
According to police a ‘doctor’, was following behind and witnessed the accident and ferried Manyika to Mater Dei Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
In 1999 Manyika was appointed Mashonaland Central Governor taking over from Border Gezi who also died in a car accident on the same road.
Manyika was infamous for his hate-filled Nora song that fuelled the orgy of violence during the 2000 and 2002 elections. The song became the theme song at ZANU PF’s nightly torture bases across the country and its lyrics openly advocates violence and urges the MDC to be whipped into the Zanu PF way of doing things.
Manyika alongside senior ZANU PF officials David Parirenyatwa,Savior Kasukuwere,Stan Mudenge,Chris Mushowe, Didymus Mutasa and Kembo Mohadi are believed to be fiercely opposed to the power-sharing deal between ZANU PF and the MDC.

Manyika was making similarly controversial plunges into party policies. He was making himself very close to uncle Bob and making lots of noise. He forgot that many old timers weren’t happy and remained silent. They do so because they know Uncle Bob’s ways when he has used you and wants to do away with you. how strange, all proclaim the man to be a monster, but each time i met him he was polite, respectful, friendly and extremely easy to talk to.

I did not like his politics, and i believe he knew it, instead we spoke of other things.
I feel for is family adn their loss, and pray they do not read some of the comments posted, to rejoice at anothers mans death makes you as bad a monster as you claim he was.

Zimbabwe is at the verge of change while most of the people see it as collapse. The hardliners and those who believe in the old regime(autocracy) will be eliminated or sidelined by the Natural Law of Selection. As the old generation pass new systems will emerge Corporates and their boards will govern countries.The very difficult times Zimbabwe is facing is a clear indication of transformation in progress.In the wild those species failing to adapt to change or those with poor qualities or poor survival skills they fail to survive. We can be pessimistic at the moment since talks/dialogue will yield nothing in the short-term but change is imminent. At the end of it all the spade shall be called a spade. All will live to accept the very failures of the current administration. What have we done wrong today that we can change and do them right tommorrow. Without that realisation we will never progress as a nation.Progressive forces in the wild are those species which can utilise change to their advantage and adapt to the new changes associated with it.
However a democrating government will run Zimbabwe one day. Charismatic leaders pursuing real policies like Obama will emerge from Dzimba Dzamabwe. Rule of Law will be the order of the day. What is happenning in Zimbabwe is part of history but what pains me is the large number of casualties who are not the cause of political and economical meltdown. The inhuman current administration denies accountability and its failures. They utter in their drunken stupor ‘NO CHOLERA IN ZIMBABWE” when people are dying.They advise people to eat potatoes when there is no maize because they believe everyone invaded a farm with still functional irrigation system. Agriculture suffers when they drive away Jimmy Carter and others(Why Jimmy Carter in particular his Humanitarian Aid company is giving out Agricultural Inputs to over 85 developing countries’(Why 85?-Its the tyrranny’s age who is not fit to be on the president’s chair at his age and its a very large number given that these countries are receiving inputs to improve the livelihood of the poor for free not for sale).
