Emily Lau, a Chinese Member of Parliament , on Sunday called for the deportaion of Robert Mugabe’s daughter Bona Mugabe at the University of Hong Kong, and said her father’s regime is “obnoxious”.
Bona Mugabe, 20, enrolled under an alias at the University of Hong Kong in the autumn.
Australia last year deported eight students whose parents were senior members of the Mugabe regime, saying it wanted to prevent those involved in human rights abuses giving their children education denied to ordinary Zimbabweans. The United States and the European Union have imposed sanctions on Mugabe’s ruling clique, including asset freezes and travel bans.
Asked about Miss Mugabe’s admission, a University of Hong Kong spokesman said: “We believe that education should be above politics and young people should not be denied the right to education because of their family background or what their parents have done.”
A university official, who asked not to be named, said most students were unaware of the presence of Miss Mugabe, who has gone to Zimbabwe for the Chinese New Year holiday.
When she returns to Hong Kong, the university would “keep a watchful eye more from a student life perspective”, the official said. However, the source added: “We are aware of the impact and significance of this. After all, he is a dictator, no one will deny this – but education, frankly, is above politics.”
Law Yuk Kai, director of Human Rights Monitor in Hong Kong, said: “A child who has not done anything wrong should not be asked to take the burden of the wrongs of their parents – and in accordance with international human rights, the interests of the child should be our first principle.”
But he added: “If the money she is spending was siphoned off the ordinary people, there is a problem. Just like other members of the international community, Hong Kong should do its part in imposing sanctions.”

We need to dispel this outrageous notion that Zimbabweans owe Mugabe for providing us with an education. It is the duty of any standing government of any nation to provide social services at the very minimum. Mugabe and Co drew and continue to draw salaries as well as dip their fingers in the kitty jar, they were not doing it for love. If anyone owes anyone anything it is Mugabe and Co, they have looted, raped and murdered Zimbabweans so it is they who are in debt.
Secondly I find it ironic that the very people ZANU claim to do everything for are the very people who’ve had to endure the worst that ZANU is capable of. I personally find it insulting that Mugabe can stand in front of Zimbabweans and claim to have improved their lives by giving them land. Zimbabwe metro you need to aggressively market your site to take advantage of the changes taking place in that once democratic and thriving publication. That site is a zanu basher and Ndebele basher. The Ndebele offered to combine forces with the tribes in oder to protect themselves and the tribes they found. The history of Mzilikazi spans from South Africa to Botswana to Zambia, as that was the route they took. Mzilikazi assimilated tribes to build numbers as he was desperate for numbers. Mzilikazi and the Ndebele,s ability to coexist with the other tribes are the reasons why his nation grew and they kept their language. The Soshangane and Zwangendaba groups on the other hand were murderous and hence they have lost their language altogether. The history was distorted by the colonialists in order to divide. They spread the rumour that the colonialists were warned of the imending Ndebele attacks in 1896 by Shona spies, and went to say that is why there were so many Shona policemen during colonial times. This was a way to cause mistrust among African tribes. The role played by the present Ndau people in raiding the shona people has been played down because it does not cause as much sensation. How come there are no atrocities reported about Mzilikazi in Botswana , Zambia and South Africa as he went through those nations. Wake and smell the coffee.

Is she studying Robotics (which is there in Chinhoyi University), Austranaut, or any other study which is not there in Zim.? If that is the case, then she can stay; but if she is studying an ordinary course which can be done in Zimbabwe, I honestly see no logic for her to leave Zim. for foreign land except that there are Lecturers because of his father’s misrule.
