MDC VP Khupe’s Car collides with Army car

A car beloging to MDC Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister, Thokozani Khupe,collided with a Santana truck which used to be an army vehicle.

The car was ferrying the Deputy Prime Minister’s mother who sustained non life threatening head injuries when the vehicle she was travelling in was involved in an accident along the Harare-Bulawayo Road on Tuesday evening.

Khupe’s mother was travelling to Harare to attend her daughter’s swearing in as Deputy Prime Minister.

According to the police, Khupe’s mother sustained lacerations and was taken to Kwekwe General Hospital.

“A Toyota Vigo, which was driving towards Harare was involved in a road traffic accident when it hit another vehicle, a Santana which suddenly made a U-turn in front of the Vigo.

“A woman aged 71 and believed to be Ms Khupe’s mother sustained some lacerations and was taken to Kwekwe General Hospital at around 5pm on Tuesday,” he said. By yesterday her condition was reported to be stable.”
