Akon Comes Clean

Days after the release of his new album Freedom, Akon has decided seek some freedom from past accusations and clear the air about his criminal past. Earlier this year, The Smoking Gun alleged that the convict had fabricated his incarceration resume, claiming to have done bids for a total of four-and-a-half-years.

The singer has responded to their claims, clarifying “I guess when I was being interviewed, and I would say, ‘Yeah I did about three years,’ I wasn’t saying I did a three year stretch, I was calculating the time from when I started to get in trouble to the time when I said, ‘Enough is enough.’”
