Former Highlanders defender Anzilom Ndlovu, who flirted with the Botswana Premier League is back at his ex-club and will be playing for the Bulawayo giants when the second half of the Premier Soccer League (PSL) starts next weekend. The lanky centre back played for Tafic in Botswana.

Bosso chairman Themba Ndlela is qouted on the club’s official website confirming that Ndlovu has been training with the rest of the Highlanders players.”He has indeed been training with the team and we hope to register him for the remaining games. Sometimes experience is needed at the back,” said Ndlela.

Ndlovu’s return will be a big boost to the Highlanders defence of rookies Brighton Choto and Brighton Dube who are heavily dependent on captain Zephaniah Ngodzo and Gift Lunga Jnr.Skipper Gilbert Banda’s injury at training before the onset of the season in March dealt Bosso a heavy blow with the defence letting in 13 goals in 15 outings.
Ndlovu’s gem of a goal scored when Bosso beat Caps United 1-0 in 2006 is hard to forget for the Highlanders’ fans.

Bosso has performed dismally in the first half of the season and the executive has announced that they are in the hunt for players to try and improve the style of play in the last half of the Premiership.

Recently it came to attention that the Bulawayo giants have approached Njube Sundowns for lethal striker Evans Chikwaikwai.Although Bosso secretary Andrew Tapela could neither deny nor confirm the development, his counterpart at Sundowns, Tawengwa Hara, said he had received a letter from Highlanders regarding the player.
Hara said the letter was signed by Tapela and Sundowns were yet to respond to Highlanders.

Chikwaikwai’s contract at Sundowns expires in December but reliable sources say there are plans to buy out his contract so that he plays the last half of the season in Bosso colours.

At the weekend it was reported that Harare giants Dynamos were also interested in the Golden Boot Award winner and the reigning Soccer Star of the year but Hara said Chikwaikwai would not be going to Harare.

He said Bosso was the only team that had approached Sundowns for the player.
“He is not going to Harare. Actually he does not want to go there. He has made up his mind. He wants to play for Highlanders and there are plans to loan him to Highlanders for the last half of the season,” Hara said.

Speculation has been rife that the Bulawayo giants were also keen on signing former player Chipo Tsodzo, Dynamos’ Gilbert Zulu and Botswana-based Master Masitara.
Tsodzo now plays for Quelaton in the ZIFA Southern Region Division One.
