You insist that Zimbabwe is a democracy, yet your policies do everything to remove the decision making process from the people – and, indeed, from the MDC.
Your party lost the election in March 2008 and yet you continue to rule Zimbabwe. You lost the first round of the Presidential election, but then had your party officials remove the ballot boxes to an unknown place, the results only made public some five weeks later – once they had been crudely re-engineered to more palatable figures.
And in the meantime you had your party brigands beat, torture and murder members of the MDC en masse – until such time as your opponent had no real choice but to pull out of the sham election.
The land invasions continue, but you toe the party line that the land is being ‘returned to the people’. You yourself announced a policy of “one farm – one family” and – yet your family now owns multiple farms.
Lead from the top, not from the mouth.
You say the land is for the ‘landless blacks’ – and then hand the appropriated farms to your party henchmen.
What happened to the “willing buyer – willing seller” policy agreed to in the Lancaster House Agreement?
Now Zimbabwe can no longer feed itself, has largely run out of fuel, has abandoned their own currency (to put it your way – “shelved”), unemployment runs above 90% and health care and education remain dreams unfulfilled for the people.
“Homes for all by 2000” and “health for all by 2000” were great one liners, but when 2000 dawned, so did the madness of your reign.
The less we say about the Gukurahundi, the better, you might think but the lives of between 20 and 30 thousand people remain uncompensated, uninvestigated and unpunished.
What say you twenty years plus hence? Nothing. Very little has changed since then.
You often cry to the free world that your (since when is it yours? You are not even a full Zimbabwean!) country is the subject of illegal full economic sanctions. I suppose if you repeat it often enough, some of it has to stick.
You are responsible not only for the destruction of an entire economy, people and country – but also for the lack of education offered to tomorrow’s leaders. What say you now?
You eat, sleep and drink ZANU PF – but has it not crossed your mind that the star is waning, that the people no longer swallow your strut and bluster, no longer want to be led by an individual who should have retired twenty years ago? Have you not got the message from the Zimbabwean people (myself, in the diaspora, included) that ZANU PF have outlived their own gluttony and overstayed their welcome?
Has the avarice of such people got no excess? Perhaps the people of Zimbabwe will be a little more understanding of your predicament if you were to speak to them, not at them. Explain yourself and take your lumps like a man. It will help that you encourage your hierarchy to follow suit.
Mercy may not be a word in your vocabulary, but it is a word in ours.

I don’t think the president needs to dwell on this “shout about today’s issues, forgetting Smith was a worse killer”, as an ordinary, patriotic Zimbabwean, its very stupid to advocate for the recent Gukurahundi war, leaving aside the cruelity Smith subjected to those who were fighting for their freedom, maybe these whites think by demonising Bob the people of Zimbabwe will forget the following
1) their land and thousands of cattle that were forcefully taken from their ancestors
2)the unleashing of Rhodesian CIO who disappeared thousands of innocent lives, untraced and never investigated
3)the unleashing of anthrax to the innocent rural folks
4)unleashing the biological warfare to our freedom fighters through poisoning their clothing, for which they died in big numbers
5)the segregating of blacks from schools, clubs, colleges, first street (Hre), colleges, public swimming pools and many more places
6)using of black folks to develop their wealth, industries, frams for a renumeration next to nothing
7)thousands of tender age children were used as cheap labour in farms instead of educating them
8)farm owners murdered, abused, cursed and dehumanised the very labour that brought prosperity into their vast land
9)thousands of innocent women and children were slaughtered by the Rodhesian airforce in Chimoi, Nyadzonya and other refugee camps
I can go on and on but my point being, whats your very motive of your challenge to the President of Zimbabwe and to the world?, and have you ever bothered to inform the very audience you are targeting that the blacks did not just wake up one morning and started invading farms
before asking about “the willing buyer willing seller”, have ever made an effort to expose the hypocricy behind the letter Claire Short wrote to Kumbirayi Kangai and thats the very letter that ignited the land invasion as you call it
Please note that the President is not half Zimbabwean, unless you imply that President Obama is half American coz his father happen to be Kenyan, Bob as rumoured he had a father who came from Malawi so what, President Rupiya Banda was born in Zimbabwe and his parents were Zambian emigrants, he left Zimbabwe at the age of 36, so you can still imply he is half Zambian
Propaganda works but in society like Zimbabwe with a 90% literacy, the vomit you trying spread will come right back to your face
Lastly, ordinary Zimbabweans benefited immensely from the land reform, some were even lucky to be resettled back in their ancestor’s land, implying that only cronies benefited is more of sour grapes, coz you forget too fast that the same whites like you now are bitter and think blacks will never be good farmers, yet you had your 99year leases on the stolen land for $20 till 1999 and you expect the farming skills to be at par with someone with less than 5years in farming
Remember what Bob said “there is that kind amongst them that will never change”
For the record, i neither support Zanu nor Mdc, but as blackman born in rural Zimbabwe at Loreto Mission Hospital in 1967, i will forgive the kind that changed, but will never forget the cruelity i witnessed at a tender age from white Selous Scouts with long beard, your article opened those scars in my mind and your photo reignited my trauma

Its to your benefit to forgive your cousins like the bearded one handiti? If he were here in Zim we would tie him up and shave that bloody beard to teach him a lesson or two. When it comes to gukurahundi you want justice but when it comes to these boers you want to let bygones be bygones, seems you have a weak spot for these whities.

Abel – threats on me mean nothing. Perhaps you need to focus on the rebuilding of Zimbabwe, instead of the past – except that you can’t – not with Mugabe telling you where to put your feet.
Just because I am in the UK does not mean that I am not a Zimbabwean.
I worked as a policeman in Zimbabwe and then in the private sector. I took my family out of Zimbabwe as I saw no real future for my children. And that, my friend, is what it is all about.
The next generation.
What have we to offer our children – apart from a broken country, an economy that is on life support and a dictator that puts colour and tribal beliefs before the needs of man?
Threaten me as much as you like. You are more of a threat to Zimbabwe than I am.

Rob. You are wasting your time having any disscussion with these zanu idiots. They have destroyed Zimbabwe and will continue to destroy anything that they come into contact with. The best thing you can do is to continue like myself to show the world the disshonesty, murder, deceipt, corruption, stealing, that these zanu dogs commit. We must continue to show the world that any donations to this country do not reach there desired destination but are swallowed up by these zanu pigs. The only cure for this country is the total elimination of zanu.I will continue to show donors and aid agencies how this corrupt government swindles them out of the millions that they want to pump into this country just as i did at my meeting with Tesco.I am a Zimbabwean in Zimbabwe and will continue to monitor the goings on of this corrupt government and feed it out as evidence to the rest of the world. Keep up the good work on your web site and i hope you are recovering well.

dutiro, You are making up stories. There are plenty of people around to verify that Chimoi, Nyadzonya and other “refugee” camps were military bases. I was there and observed some of these camps PRIOR to attacking them. Ask Tekere – he will verify what I am saying.
As for your picture Rhodesiand mass killing thousands of women and children. Why did zanupf allow them in Military bases ? In fact whilst we are on about zanupf, I saw plenty of murders of innocent civilians carried out by zanupf. So get a life Dutiro – you are a born-free. You have no idea what went on.

Rob !!?
Responsible politicians do not give power to irresponsible armature purpets of the west. FYI me as one of those leaving in the Western world I’m not an ass like Rob and claim to love Zimbabwe and yet laugh all the way to my grave when illegal sanctions are adding boiled salt to the injuries caused by poor management.
You better watch your comments. The Zimbabwe population has been politically arm twisted for so long so regardless of who ever you claim to be do not temper with our anger.

The way forward is for us as Zimbos to make the change we need. No one will do it for us.
Calling each other names will not help an iota. But careful well placed wordsof wisdom, encouragement and enlightment will get us far.
History is being used by everyone in this argument. For withou it, there would be no cure to the status quo. As always, it is how you apply it.
Why oh why must we keep crying instead of doing something.
do something dont just sit there and be an expert.

Its horrible to hear these Zanu PF thugs, thieves, killers and drinkers of people’s blood still praising their chief killer and agent of the devil Robert Mugabe. Whether you like it or not, all you Zanu PF praise birds will one day rot in hell for the pains and sufferings that you brought to people of Zimbabwe- white/black. The skin colour of an individual is of no consequence here, it is neither white nor black: its simply Mugabe and you fellow thugs destroyed our country, murdered, raped people. Rob Ellis was right to leave the issue of the Matabaleland issue: its just so painful that we still have Zanu PF bed-bugs still thirsting for our blood today.
Yini eliyifunayo kanti lina bantu beZanu? We are now scattered all over the world because of you.
