Posted by Former Finance and Economic Development minister and losing presidential candidate in last year’s elections, Simba Makoni, has dismissed reports of his expulsion from the Mavambo/Kusile/Dawn (MKD) movement.
In a statement Makoni’s spokesperson Denford Magora defended Makoni’s record and dismissed accusations of mismanagement that led to Makoni’s expulsion calling them ‘spurious and false’.
“What we would like to assure the nation, however, is that Simba Makoni refuses to be distracted by these persons who are clearly driven by an anti-democratic agenda.
“Those who know Simba Makoni will attest to his commitment to democracy, good governance, transparency and respect for the people. This was, indeed, the reason he left ZANU PF in February 2008″,read the statement.
Addressing a press conference in Harare yesterday, MKD mobilisation committee chairperson Kudzai Mbudzi said Makoni was kicked out of the movement by its national coordinating committee for allegedly failing to provide “leadership and direction” to the movement.
Mbudzi, who alongside MKD national coordinator Ibbo Mandaza and provincial executives have been fighting with Makoni over control of movement resources, accused the former finance minister of being indecisive and holding an ambivalent position that “indistinguishable from Mugabe and ZANU PF.”
“We, the founder members and the provincial leadership of MKD, therefore hereby declare Makoni is with immediate effect relieved of his coordinative and administrative duties, functions and responsibilities at the strategic apex of the MKD movement,” read the committee statement.
Once Zanu always Zanu. including Tsvangirai, Dabengwa etc. Once a Zanu always a Zanu, including majority of Zimbabwe from those provinces that put Zanu in power in the first place

I AM GLAD I WAS NEVER ASSOCIATED WITH ZANU PF IN MY LIFE
As for the Makoni issue, well its just further dilapidation of a dilapidated conglomerate of an assembly which had Zanu PF mandate to delay the peoples’ project, as was revealed by Dumiso Dabengwa in 2008. Those who may not have read or dont remember Dabengwa’s statements: he said their main objective as Mavambo/Kusile/Dawn was to thwart the then clear march of MDC-T to governance of Zimbabwe. Zanu PF decided to form MKD to split the voters, and all those that currently appear in MKD register inclusive of Dabengwa agreed to that and they did exactly as requested by their master, who is Zanu PF under Mugabe. Immediately after Makoni announced his intention to “contest as a presidential candidate against Mugabe” many political myopics ululated saying Simba kuvanhu. We are therefore glad that this group of “saviours” is splitting like a deck of new cards.
Let them go and disband enmasse, and if it was possible that they dissolve and permeate into thin air and remain there, we dont want to hear about them anymore. Maybe Zanu PF can recall them as they executed their task well.
I am glad I was never and will never in my life time be associated with Zanu PF, to me this is like purity; something I am proud of and will always tell my grand-children about it. I hate Zanu PF and everything associated with it with colossus, immense and gigantic passion.

I think its a way for them to disbundle their successful project because for zanu it worked very well they took MORGANS votes and gave them to Makoni and there was no ultimate winner. So its time they disbundle their project and they are trying to create sort of skirmishes so that they will have something to say about the death of MKD project. What makes you think that all those people who left Zimbabwe will want to come back when they have now made new lives for themselves in their new countries.They have no shortages of anything,Are earning a good living,Have nice houses,Nice cars,Lots of cheap food,Plenty of cheap beer,No harrassment, and most of all ,THE RULE OF LAW.
I have travelled to America,UK,New Zealand,Australia and met up with a lot of ex Zimbabweans both black and white.They have new and exciting lives in these countries and they now do things that they could never do when living in Zimbabwe.They holiday on a regular basis in places that they could never have afforded when living in Zimbabwe.Their children are getting first class education and are safe.The majority of these proffessional people who made Zimbabwe what it was before those zanu idiots destroyed it have given up their Zimbabwe citizen ship and become citizens of their new countries.If you think that any of these proffessional people are going to come back then you are horribly disillusional.Their lives are far better than they have ever been and will ever get in Zimbabwe.
