President Robert Mugabe has reportedly ordered a mass execution of all suspected soldiers who went on rampage in the city and looted shops.

A source at the Army headquarters revealed that President Mugabe and members of the Joint Operations Command(JOC) were infuriated with the latest behaviour of the army and those “rogue elements“ would likely be executed in front of other soldiers.

Yesterday disgruntled soldiers clashed with anti-riot police trying to stop them from looting shops in in the city center as fears of an army mutiny continued to grow.

State media reported on Wednesday that some of the suspected soldiers have since been arrested and will face a stern punishment for “an act of mercenarism.“

Addressing a Press conference yesterday, Outgoing Defence Minister Sen.Sydney Sekeramayi said the incidents were being investigated and those found culpable would be brought to justice.

Sekeramayi told the press that there increasing cases of army members`s indiscipline .

“As a result, a number of properties were damaged, innocent people injured, money, and property stolen. These acts are unacceptable, deplorable, reprehensible and criminal,” Sekeramayi said.

“Let me also emphasise that those who may try to incite some members of the uniformed forces to indulge in illegal activities will equally be found culpable,” he said.

A murderer(mugabe) for real what kind of leader is this man, he needs to address their concerns rather than killing his own people he has enough blood in his hands already. He believes in instilling fear on his own people so that people are scared to oppose him. Gone are those days this is a begining of great resistance to come.

While this will be a deplorable thing for Mugabe to do, it is very difficult to believe this Metro story for the reporter does not give the source or sources of their story. It looks like a fabrication by an overzealous reporter who is pushing some agenda. Please Metro, while we appreciate exposing Mugabe’s brutality, we can not just cheer you when your reports seem nothing but just propaganda. The fact that we are anti-Mugabe does not mean that you can just feed us with nonsense, thats not journalism. This story is nonsense unless corroborated by sources!

Thats true Mugabe is setting us up for him to kill the 12 MDC supporters in his hands in the pretext of army revolt which is not real. The real thing is to take Mugabe out of action when he comes back at the airport. Where is the CIA when we need them.

Corroborated or not, make no mistake about it: the price of mutiny, whether real or imagined, is death by a firing squad after a (military) court marshal.

whatever they do with those soldiers is not important at this juncture, the most important thing is the agreed truth: soldiers (whether pvte or capt) looted, robbed people of their hard earned money and damaged property, which cannot cost £4 to repair. the mind boggles. its now in the red, get ready sons of the soil, meet you at the airport. dont say i didn’t tell you.

“soldiers are running amok, chaos everywhere, there will be a demo by ZCTU and NCA…..”. This is because they mistakenly think that the soldiers will join them and beat back the police. They won’t. The soldiers have not rebelled against Mugabe. Which is why Mugabe has not rushed back home from the middle east where he is attending a UN conference. He knows exactly what is happening. And he knows why. And he knows he is safe in the mean time.THIS IS A PRELIMINARY PLATFORM OF DECLARING A STATE OF EMERGENCY………….EVERYBODY WATCH OUT !!!!

The only person to have said something sensible is Chematama, this article appears plagued with lies. It is a given that Gushungo will never hesitate to deliver fatal retribution against anyone opposed to him, or to simply make a point of trying to instill fear in his people, but this report has been churned out so quickly, it has absolutely no credibility.
It is a comendable thing to have more news outlets, that way we are not brainwashed and fed lies by Gushungo,, Charamba, Ndlovu & Associates. But the problem is, almost all these online publications are done so from the diaspora, our sources (to these reporters) are friends, and family, and only a small handful of actual inside sources. Hence there are no REAL sources save for hearsay & rumours. A few of the reporters and journalists are those who fled reprisals from Gushungo & Co, and have some form of professional credibility, but a significant number of others, are just people who read blogs, international news agencies (BBC, CNN, Bloomberg, online news, hell I even saw a regurgitated article from the CIA world fact book!!!). They then go on to tell us “breaking news”, dzavanzwa kupi? Nhema dzega dzega!! Other online publications, zim”something”daily, Zimbabwe Idzva (new”chakuti”zimbabwe), you all KNOW which ones I mean, take them for example, these guys can run for almost a whole fortnight with the same headlines and stories, check it out for yourselves!! Therefore in essence, sources, newsworthiness, and over and above all; credibility, is very very very skeptical. If that, they are so biased and impartial, one might think that Tsvangi & AGO are the sole contributers to these publications. Hameno, sizobona, but as far as I can see there still is an extremely long way to go until one can sit down, and say that they’ve read an informative, thought provoking, factual and balanced article. Tell me what you guys think?

You are spot on as usual simbimbino. Most of these papers have too much wishful thinking. The reality on the ground is that the old man has the whole country by the balls and despite the wishfull thinking, nothing will change in the foreseeable future.Simply hating the old man is not what will remove him. You need tact and strategy which unfortunately is scarce in our opposition and these news outlets. Mugabe is now a nhinhi to these newspapers.Maone

There is nothing new about the Zimbabwe national army beating up people. Armed man in Zimbabwe have always been cowards, starting with Zanla fighters who killed innocent villagers because they thought they were witches, then the gukurahundi. Why is there so much noise about now. ZANU has always been rotten but it did not stop the tribalists from voting for it in 1980, 1985, 1990, 1995. Zimbawean people created this monster by refusing to criticize it earlier on. Mugabe is right, he should teach this nation, never to vote by emotion or tribal affiliations. Kill them Mugabe and make them suffer more. I can see dispite all the bad things you have done, there are people who still support and worship you.

WHAT IS NOT BEING SAID IN MOST OF THE ARTICLES PUBLISHED WHETHER ONLINE OR ELSEWHERE IS WHY THE SOLDIERS TOOK THE ACTION THEY TOOK.
    1. THEY WANTED TO EXPOSE THE CORRUPTION IN THE ARMY, GOVERNMENT AND THE RESERVE BANK OF ZIMBABWE. ARMY GENERALS AND MOST OF THE TOP BRASS ARE BEING GIVEN FIFTY MILLION A DAY WHILE ALL THE OTHERS WERE GIVEN TEN MILLION. YOU CAN SEE THE IMBALANCE.
    2. THEY WERE TAKING MONEY FROM THE MONEY CHANGERS BECAUSE GONO IS FEEDING THOSE MONEY CHANGERS CASH AND STARVING THE BANKS HENCE THE SHORTAGES. THE SOLDIERS HAD A RIGHT TO GO AND TAKE OUR MONEY BACK FROM THESE PEOPLE WHO ARE CONTRIBUTING TO OUR MISERY.
    3. THE SOLDIERS WANTED TO HELP THE TIMIID , DOCILE AND SELFISH ZIMBABWEANS START A REVOLT AGAINST THE OPPRESIVE GOVERNMENT BUT INSTEAD OF THE PUBLIC TEAMING UP WITH THEM THEY WERE TURNING AGAINST THE SOLDIERS.
    4. THE POLICE WERE AGAINST THE SOLDIERS BECAUSE THEY WERE NOT ENJOYING THE TEN MILLION DOLLAR DAILY WITHDRAWALS HENCE THEIR STANCE.

AS FOR THIE ARTICLE ABOVE IT DEFINATELY LACKS CREDIBILITY.
MUGABE SHOULD NEVER BE ALLOWED TO KILL OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN THE ARMY AND WE SHOULD STAND BY THEIR SIDE NEXT TIME THEY REVOLT AGAINST THE GOVERNMENT.

  17. realitynews says:

DEAR EDITOR – The ongoing political clash between Zimbabwe and Botswana should be put in its right context. It pays to criticize Mugabe. Both Botswana and Kenya have benefitted tremendously from criticizing their own ‘brother’.

This is the power of the dollar, the U.S. dollar.

I could not care much about Kenya. There is a Prime Minister who always seems to suggest the impossible to get aid for his country, like sending troops into Zimbabwe.

Kenya’s 5 million children face starvation even though the country is a favored ally of the U.S. Kenya’s coalition is also on the brink of a breakup, so there’s not much to learn from that loose coalition brokered by one “Elder” who attempted to get into Zimbabwe recently.

Botswana, our neighbour and long-time ally is the interesting case study.

Besides suggesting the blindingly impossible, like shutting borders when their electricity passes through Zimbabwe, the country seems to have a bunch of misguided leaders in government as well.

Zimbabwean media has gone madly in love with these leaders from Botswana who always threaten action, but do very little. The least they can do, which is symbolic in any case, is for example to deport Caeasar Zvayi or offer Tsvangirai passage to go to the West. That does nothing for the Zimbabwean people. South Africa today is hands-on working with the U.N. and the government of Zimbabwe to reduce the effects of cholera in Zimbabwe. That is what concerned countries do, not the gesture politics of Botswana.

Anyway, Botswana is singing for supper and the leadership in that country has been corrupted by the US dollar. Everytime America makes a donation, that country issues a statement about Zimbabwe.

“Together, the people of Botswana and the American people have shown that strong partnerships enable ordinary people to do extraordinary things,” said U.S. Ambassador to Botswana, Stephen Nolan recently. Indeed ordinary people like Foreign Minister, Skelemani indeed say extra-ordinary things. To suggest that borders should be closed by Zimbabwe’s neighbours and aid airlifted into the country is one of the most illogical statements to come from such a high-level office.

Botswana has not managed to bring aid into Zimbabwe when the borders are open, how will they do it when they are closed? The only aid we have seen from that country is to MDC-T leader, Morgan Tsvangirai.

Many people who watched the BBC HardTalk interview would have cringed from such a nonsensical and impractical suggestion. It works with activists, but means nothing in real terms. Why have they not implemented that threat so far? They have every opportunity to do so.

That country should never, for one minute, think that Zimbabwe is an extension of their country. They should resolve the Bushmen crisis first before they tell Zimbabwe what to do. They can sell their soul for a dollar. Zimbabweans will never do that! We will never sacrifice our soul for the US dollar.

We are a more resilient nation, that fought the white settlers for a very long time and seen many protracted conflicts before.

Botswana can team up with desperate reporters outside Zimbabwe who are also singing for supper, who look for any negative story coming out of Zimbabwe to improve their income, or get a scholarship.

One thing I can remind all these individuals who spread this negativity about Zimbabwe is that when Zimbabwe gets back to normality, their stories will be on record.

As for Botswana, we await real action, not these idle threats that guarantee you more aid! We also urge Mr Ian Khama to win an election first, before he criticises other presidents for being illegitimate. He was neither elected nor endorsed by the Tswana people. He was “ordained to presidency” by former president Festus Mogae, his close ally and current adviser.

If people or at least Mugabe, his JOC and the rest of the ruling party members believe that the Zimbabwe economy is in shambles because of sanctions, then what are their plans to counter that? If they want to aliviate the suffering of the people, then they should look for the sanction keys and hand them to a person who can unlock the sanction black box. If its not about sanctions, so what their plan of delivering us from this suffering. I do not see how MDC would hope to be in control when they are using democratic ways to dislodge a junta. MDC and ZANU PF ae singing from different hyms and they both understand different languages. My personal experience with ZANU PF is they believe in killing all descenting voices. Kuve mu ZANU PF kuve mumota isina reverse geer, no breaks and is accelerating mu boterekwa. Driver wacho haadi any idea isingapindirani naye. I have a close friend who witnessed the execution of some soldiers. So its not like they will be executed but they have been executed at 4.00am this morning. The marshal court was presided over by the retired G. Chiweshe. The document was signed by midnight by his exellence and executions were done at 4am. Iwo masoja anotoziva kuti hauite riot uri mu uniform. However they thought all suffering people would join in and bring to end the regime. chokwadi kani. so tell me guys. How many problems do we have in africa right now? We have Congo-more serious than zimbabwe, Sudan, Somalia to name but a few.So why are we the only country with the highest inflation in the world? Why are we the only country given special treatment or attention by the mdc masters?

    1. Those white farmers you beat up and took back (your) land in 2000 to destribute to your black people.

    2. The main opposition was formed by the labour gvt of tony blair after 1997 to protect the interests of the white british farmers. This opposition was named mdc.

3.We dared to challenge the white man during Rhodesia and we dared take back our land they had stolen from our elders way back from 1890.

4.There has always been an element of revenge ever since we defeated the whites during the second Chimurenga up until 1980.

5.The so called Gukurahundi happened ages ago before some of you were even born, but not a word was spoken by these evil monsters in the defence of the defenceless. Why the fuss now? Well the fuss began in 2000 with the formation of mdc by Blair.

6.Why give us handouts when its so clear that we can feed ourselves if sanctions are removed?

But never mind -i have proved to you that this whole thing has everything to do with the white people you bashed about in the year 2000 and took the land they had stolen in the first place.Black people have killed each other in africa for god knows how long and we have never seen such concern from the west.Rwanda-Uganda-Kenya -Xenophobic violence recently-Congo- why zimbabwe?

I am certain they are not concerned about you lot.White people are not dying from cholera are they? So they will talk of handouts this and that while your black asses die like rats. They dont give a **** about your black ass.Its all about those white farmers because they are also British. Some of the land also belonged to to some in the House of Lords. Now that is some big ****.But Mugabe was not born to take orders or **** from a white man.Neither was I.We live that to morgan the miner. He refused to fight in the real war -chimurenga .Why did he not want to fight for human rights then? I remember how oppressed we were by the selous scouts -did that not bother morgan? We still had food but the war was about what? You tell me.Did that not matter to morgan?

This guy is the original puppet and he has put our country on a downward spiral since he came into politics. What is it that drives him now that failed to drive him to join the other zimbabwe gallant fighters like my two brothers who fought alongside our other heroes to free our country.I need to understand morgan and his ideology. He amazes me because he wants to be surounded by white people. He does not respect black people at all.If he gets into power , we might as well change the name of the country to Rhodesia. I am afraid people have been brainwashed by the media and its too late to save zimbabwe.Nyoka yauraiwa nemasanctions with you giving it your full support.welldone puppets.

Reality news what do you mean when you say “the so called gukurahundi”. Gukurahundi is a reality, there are thousands of people in Midlands and Matabeleland who do not have birth certificates, either because their parents were killed by gukurahundi, or they were conceived as a result of rape by gukurahundi. These people never got a chance to go to school. I was conceived as a result of the rape by gukurahundi soldier. Mugabe used the Rhodesian elements to harass Nkomo, Dabengwa, Lookout Masuku, Zapu supporters etc. No one ever said he was a puppet, when he used Ken flower and company to trump up imaginary crimes by Nkomo. We have interviewed many ex Zipra guys and other victims about what happened during that time. Things will be revealed. Mugabe tried to distort the role played by Zapu and Zipra in the liberation of Zimbabwe so much that the Battle of Wankie in 1967 was never taught in the schools, but we were taught about the Chinhoyi Battle which was a dismal military failure. The battle of Wankie will never be suppressed as it is important in both Zimbabwe and South Africa. Now many uMkhonto we Sizwe publications are writing about it. The fact is, Mugabe is more of a puppet than Tsvangirai, the Rhodesians played him in the 1980s and made him kill his own black people, after that they sabotaged the air force, all the while he was focused on an imaginary enemy that is Zapu, while the real enemies were dining with him and at the same time externalising funds and industrial equipment. The Zimbabwean economy was sabotaged then and Mugabe did nothing because the majority of the population were worshipping him. You can accuse accuse Tsvangirai and Khama for being puppets, but we have little evidence of their mistakes. The evidence for Mugabe’s mistakes are numerous. He took farms and businesses from freedom fighters (ZIPRA) in 1987, these guys were trying to rebuild their lives after the war. It is only in Zimbabwe that war veterans can be treated like that. I hate Mugabe and anyone who supports him. He pays you the CIO to write comments on various forums, but you forget that many people using these forums are independent thinkers and no amount of propaganda will change their attitudes.
