We have no details on that,” the source told reporters.
Yesterday U.S. Ambassador to Zimbabwe James McGee offered a bleak assessment of the dynamics of the uneasy relationship between the partners in the proposed unity government.
McGee told a foreign policy audience at Freedom House in Washington that President Robert Mugabe and hardliners in his longtime ruling ZANU-PF party are stalling on the implementation of the power-sharing agreement signed on Sept. 15 and would continue to do so.
McGee described that agreement as “highly imperfect,” as Mr. Mugabe and prime minister-designate Morgan Tsvangirai, founder of the Movement for Democratic Change which emerged from opposition to majority in parliament in March elections, “will have what appear to be equivalent powers,” so it is unclear how government policies will be set.
“We can expect continued absence of good will from President Mugabe and his allies as they attempt to cling to power and continue to enrich themselves,” McGee said.
Home affairs is essentail as well, MDC needs to get it no matter what Prime Minister designate Hon Mr M Tswangirai. The MDC strategist has said that morgan signed a deal that had many holes , some of them big enough to drive a truck through. So morgan new all along but he did not say anything. He let people speculate and the conclusion was that mbeki and mugabe had hoodwinked him. All the while his american representative Mcgee was advising morgan on whats best for us zimbabweans.Pure madness. Morgan is simply not acting in the interests of zimbabweans. Had he not signed the deal then may be the situation would be different today. Had he asked mbeki to plug those gaps before signing then we would be facd with a different scenario today.By not demanding that those gaps be pugged morgan did not act in the interests of the people. He has allowed this thing to get out of control when it could have been contained before he signed it.
I can see why he did what he did. The idea is to please his masters.Their overall objective has always been the same and that is to get rid of mugabe or to reduce his powers so that his influence in the future is diminished.Thats fine if its their strategy but they must not let people speculate .They should have come out an said the truth that morgan is signing a deal that is incomplete as it was part o their strategy.Morgan held a rally before signing this deal and promised never to sign a bad deal. By signing the next day a deal we now know he knew was full of gaps as mcgee put it , he misled the people of zimbabwe.It was not honourable to do that. I worry about the people who advise morgan because their objectives are differnt from ours.They are obsessed with the removal of mugabe and we want our country out of the gutters.we want a peaceful nation that is united or the future will not be so rosy for long.
In my opinion if the mdc continue on this path , then we are headed for a major explosion.The only losers will be us the people.As things stand the sanctions are still in place and morgan new this would be the scenario all along.But he does not mind because he wants the west to help him become the president of zimbabwe by refusing to drop sanctions until the economy collapses.Now that he has signed a deal we are stuck in the middle-with a deal but sanctions in place.On the other hand the regime change agents are demanding we follow a free market economy-human rights this and that when all they want is mugabe to lose his powers or to be forced out.Why are they raping our nation and mdc are playing a part. Up to now morgan has not come out and ask for the sanctions to be dropped.If he knew that the sanctions would not be dropped when he signed the deal , then he is a b**** fool than he already is.People are dying right now. He and mcgee in the meantime play golf and use food aid to prop up the mdc image as the people’s saviours.

Its not only Home Affairs and Finance which is needed by MDC to steer this country from abyss. We need more key industries like Local Gvt , Foreign Affairs and Hogher Education and Terciary. I hope MDC will not be quick to agree just for the sake of agreeing. In my view all the people who believed in our liberation struggle should wise up and not let these foreign agents ruin our independence while they recieve food aid.We did not fight the war in order to get food aid. The only way forward is for us to be self sufficient like we were before the sanctions were imposed.Remove the sanctions and then see us get on with our lives.Thats all we need.But before that happens they want to make sure that we are ready to be looted by demanding we do this and that -free market economy my arse-change the indeginisation laws etc. That is all they want morgan to do by demanding all these so called key ministries.If morgan is not in a position to make these changes then the sanctions will remain in place.
I say to bob today-we have come a long way into being self sufficient. Today we are poor but we know why.
