Thokozani ‘Thoko’ Khuphe-Deputy Prime Minister

Widely ignored in the media in what I am convinced is blatant sexism in the male dominated news world.
Khuphe was the only MP from Bulawayo to back Tsvangirai following the senate fallout that resulted in the MDC split. She was elected Vice President of the MDC in 2006. A magnificent speaker and chief strategist. Alongside MDC Youth Chair Thamsanqa Mahlangu they led an impressive offensive that saw the MDC gaining control of the Bulawayo City council and winning all lower house seats in Bulawayo. She is a third term Member of Parliament for Makokoba constituency.

Tendai Biti-Minister of Finance or Home Affairs

A maverick and competent strategist the Secretary-General of the MDC turned down a 2nd Deputy Premiership position in an earlier arrangement that had three Deputy Prime Ministers and would likely be appointed Minister of Finance. A lawyer by profession he has served as Secretary for Economic Affairs, and is reportedly the brains behind RESTART, the MDC economic blueprint.

Elton Mangoma, Minister of Economic Planning and Investment Promotion
Elton Mangoma is the MDC’s Deputy Treasurer General a founder member of the MDC in 1999.
He is one of the first few Zimbabwean and black Chartered Accountant (Zimbabwe). He holds Masters of Business Leadership (MBL) degree and is the Member of Parliament for Makoni North.

Elias Mudzuri-Minister of Public Works
Harare’s popular Mayor was suspended from his position as Executive Mayor of Harare without pay, and locked out of his office. In a political landscape where the MDC has the majority in local government Mudzuri will likely be appointed Minister of Local Government.

A graduate of Harvard University and Engineer by profession. The MDC National Organizing Secretary served as deputy chief engineer in the Harare Municipality.

He represents Warren Park in Parliament.ZANU PF’s Ignatius Chombo will likely take over as Minister of Public works.

Eddie Cross-Minister of Industry and Commerce
Cross is a renowned economist and is currently the MDC Policy Coordinator General. He served as the MDC Secretary for Economic Affairs soon after the first MDC congress. An entrepreneur Cross could bring into the cabinet decades of experience in senior management. His past assignments include being Chief Economist in the Agricultural Marketing Board, and CEO of the Dairy Marketing Board and the Cold Storage Commission. He is the Member of Parliament for Bulawayo South.

George Sibotshiwe
Tsvangirai’s spokesman George Sibotshiwe will likely be Director of Communications in the Prime Minister’s Office. Sibotshiwe abandoned a fledging career in Public Relations and Advertising to become the MDC Presidential spokesman.

Others to look out for ; Tapiwa Mashakada,Innocent Gonese,Elphas Mukoweshuro, Nelson Chamisa,Giles Mutsekwa, Fidelis Mhashu, Joel Gabhuza, Roy Bennet,Theresa Makone, Morgan Komichi, Sam Sipepa Nkomo, Sen.Sekai Holland, Paurina Mpariwa and Blessing Chebundo.

The MDC will also appoint Governors,Senators and MPs,names to look out for; Mfandaedza Hove,Tichaona Mudzingwa,Norman Mabhena and Gordon Chavunduka.

The Mutambara faction will likely field Welshman Ncube,Gibson Sibanda,Moses Mzila Ndlovu, Abednico Bhebhe,Edward Mkhosi and Sen.David Coltart. Fire works are expected as most of their MPs will feel sidelined.

What a positive step – putting qualified people who mean to help Zimbabwe and Zimbabweans into the government instead of the Zanu way – promoting family and friends to give them a salary! MDC ROCKS!

It has started – making capable people into deputies because one fears they will shine too much in for example minister of technology, home affairs etc. What a waste. Besides people see through this kind of tactic.Prove that you are better than that.
