Harare — Zimbabwe’s three governing parties have suspended until Saturday their negotiations on outstanding issues impeding the work of the unity government after three days of marathon meetings.
Officials said the talks were adjourned because some of the negotiators will be out of the country on government business.

On November 6, regional leaders meeting in Mozambique directed the Zimbabwean parties to start the talks in 15 days and conclude them within 30 days.
South African President Jacob Zuma, the new facilitator in the dialogue yesterday also signaled his intention to see the talks concluded within the deadline with the appointment of a high level team to monitor progress.
The next few days
Mr Zuma’s political adviser, Mr Charles Nqakula, special envoy Mac Maharaj and international relations advisor Ms Lindiwe Zulu will visit Zimbabwe in the next few days to inject urgency into the talks. The talks are being held at a secret location in Harare and so far the negotiations have kept a lid on the deliberations.
Mr Zuma who took over from his predecessor Mr Thabo Mbeki is himself expected in Harare after December 6.
The appointment of the new facilitation team means Mr Mbeki’s role in Zimbabwe has ended.
The Zimbabwean parties are haggling over President Robert Mugabe’s refusal to reverse his unilateral appointment of his cronies to head the central bank and attorney general’s office, pirate radio stations and Western sanctions among a myriad of issues say they will not be bound by the deadline.

A batton stick is a dangerous weapon. Look how damaged Morgan’s face is.
Anyway back to the issue at hand. I think both parties are realising that they dont need to be stampeded by the South Africans into doing anything since both sides are not prepared to give in on anything. So be prepared for this stalemate to last not 30 days but 30 months.
MDC-T is held by the nuts on the issue of sanctions and pirate radio stations and Zanu pf knows it cannot not allow a gradual regime change by allowing those disputed posts to be given to MDC. Ndiyo inonzi chikilobanya manje.

Realist, why do you have such a name when you dont like reality? Why dont you specify why you think I have hate. Thats typical MDC style, whenever someone tells them the convenient truth, they are accused of hate speech.Buffons!
There is no progress on this experiment called GPA because both sides have their heads in the feeding trough and will not give that up.That, my friend, is reality.

You are now in denial. The fact that Zuma has sent s VERY strong team to monitor the GPA negotiations speaks volumes for his determination to see a resolution to this Crisis. President Mugabe may want to delay, defer and obfuscate the principles agreed too in the initial talks but IT WILL NOT WORK. This is the end game.
SA does not want a festering abscess on her borders during a Global Financial Crisis. Her GDP has dropped 8%. Her exports a little more. Her access to International Financial support has disappeared. Her currency is losing ground in the Forex markets. The Gold output is dropping at an alarming rate
What do you think Zuma will do to rectify this problem?????

Tell me Realist. What will Zuma do in practical terms, if Robert tells him to mind his own business. He can even tell Zuma to bring back refugees or assylum sekers in SA. Now is Zuma willing to expell Zimbos in SA? Or you are one of those dreamers who imagine that SA army can cross the limpopo and topple the Junta.
I dont know where you are getting your figures of GDP, i hope you have not sucked your thumb and come up with those figures.Or maybe you thought SA was immune to the recession that even my granma in njanja is aware of.

GDP figures for May 2009:
http://www.business-standard.com/india/news/south-africa%5Cs-gdp-contracts-64-in-1st-quarter/62961/on
They are now worse in the latest quarter.
The SA army doesn’t need to cross the Limpopo. Zimbabwe is landlocked. Don’t even think of help from Botswana.
Who else needs to do anything. Zimbabwe is a country without any support
from it’s neighbours, it is friendless.
Sorry Abel….it’s time for a big re-think in Shake-Shake

Mr Abel and Zanu Pf, do you see that Mugabe is now very old? Are you saying that Mugabe is at his very best at 85years? The sucessors (Mnangagwa) are aslo 63 years old. There is no future for Zanu youth then. I think Abel you are reading memos for the president and you are lying to him. Mugabe has lost control, Abel yoiu are running the president’s office. Let us be real as you say, talk to anyone outside who is 76 years you will realise that they have a speech impairment and a memory loss problem consistent with age. Mugabe cannot be super human. Please allow the oldman to rest, he needs a break.

ABEL NEEDS HELP.
He either grew up with an Uncle who abused him or a step father who abused him, either way he was abused and hated it but was powerless.
Now he is taking his anger and hatred to all things that makes sense. He believes by joining the evil side he can fix society for letting him suffer all those years.
Shame, though couse this man is a very very sad man.

Easy easy guys! The fact of the matter is that Mugabe is not going to just give in like that. SADC (Zuma included) do not have enough guts to tell Mugabe that he is wrong. They see that as taking sides in the unity gvt and so all they will say is “Guys sort out your issues, zimbabwean problems must be resolved by zimbabweans”. As much as we don’t like it , the 30 day deadline will pass with nothing being accomplished.

Well that’s the main issue right..?? Bob made S.A.D.C., no other country has participated in more AFRICAN PEACE keeping/intervention missions quite like Zimbabwe has had.(I ONLY SPEAK FROM EXPERIENCE). The fact is, “it is very difficult to enforce “regime change”, against proven tough guys whether they are hungry or not.” South Africa with all its economic and military might as well as Western alliances is not too keen on muscling the Zimbos. Zuma had to promise to reign in Z.A.N.U merely for the West’s insurance. However there is always the ELEPHANT IN THE LIVING ROOM,….yours truly the Zimbabwe Defence Forces, hungry or not they will FIGHT (PLEASE DO NOT KID YOURSELVES). I have since moved on from service in the Z.D.F., but we were always taught to EXPECT NOTHING and ANTICIPATE CONFLICT. It is what we were brought up to do…!! I revere both the opposition professors, Mutambara and Ncube, and my bretheren in uniform and arms probably would agree. These guys argue but make sense and do not come across as desperate. Gentlemen, the Zimbabwe issue is etched in BLOOD, and the West as well as S.A.D.C are fully aware of this fact, NO GAINS WILL EVER COME WITHOUT PAIN..!! Either fight us or join us, and as each day passes, it looks more likely to be the Latter..!

I said it before and I will say it again, once M.D.C. sympathizers on this forum are faced with tangible facts, they “GO TABLOID..!!” The thing with Z.A.N.U. my fellow M.D.C bros. should take in to account is that, “It is all about power in the end gentlemen.” The Old man has a very long line of possible successors within Z.A.N.U. itself. Furthermore that scenario has received more priority and attention than the G.N.U BOYCOTT and DEADLINE. Tsvangirai going to meet Gadhaffi..,common now…AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 days to help free a Selous scouting Rhodie Bennett, now Tabloiders tell me that will not split your party..
Roy Bennett was never a Selous scout…He was a Rhodesian Policeman.A Fact….(Editor)
