Harare, November 11, 2009 – Three employees with the state-controlled Zimbabwe Broadcasting Holdings (ZBH), O’brien Rwafa, Jacob Phiri and Freedom Moyo were last week suspended for 10 days after being accused of leaking information on a government directive to stop covering government ministers who are members of the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) led by Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai.

Misa Zimbabwe said Rwafa, Phiri and Moyo, employed as news editor, chief producer and bulletins manager respectively were suspended on full salaries pending investigations and ordered to surrender ZBC property.
ZBH Chief Executive Happison Muchechetere refused to comment on the suspensions. Muchechetere was, however, reported as having earlier informed managers at the state broadcaster that all stories involving ministers from the MDC should be taken off air.The investigations were so intense to the extent that the ZBH management board reportedly went as far as approaching a mobile cellphone operator enquiring on the number of phone calls done by the suspended managers in question.
Tsvangirai has complained about the state-owned media campaign of hate speech against the opposition and blamed mainly President Robert Mugabe’s spokesman George Charamba for influencing that.

This Much****tere chap is too extreme at times. He should cool it for his own sake.

Much****tere has nightmares everytime the word MDC is mentioned on t.v I am certain it has to do with the fact that Nelson Chamisa made him look like a sick puppy live on national t.v a few weeks before the March 08 election!
Who remembers Much****tere being forced by Chamisa to call him “Cde. Chamisa”! One of the funniest moments I have ever witnessed on t.v!

There are so many ways of obtaining the truth in this computer age. Even if they put an iron curtain around Zimbabwe, the world will know. The iron curtain may only delay. Much****tere should understand this.
